Example introduction email (For students)
This is an example email or message you can use as a starting point to invite your students for a first visit.
Hi,
For our next class on ( DATE) we'll be trying something new! Instead of our familiar Teams/Zoom sessions, we'll be using a virtual classroom. There we can all choose an avatar and move around in a virtual 3D space, using our mouse and keyboard. It's a bit like an online game.
The application works in your browser, so you will only need the link below to start.
- Use the Chrome or Firefox browser for the best experience,
- Use a headset to talk to each other (works best and avoids weird echo's for you and others) ,
- You don't need a webcam (because you work with an avatar),
- Using a computer mouse is much easier! But it is not required.
You can use the following link to enter the class. It will open X minutes in advance:
LINK TO THE INVITATION
The first time will be mainly about loggin in and getting used to the navigation. So we can start right away the second time. Important: during the login process you will get some questions.
- Make sure to click on the buttons ('Join room') to enter the space on your laptop.
- If you get a question to allow the site use your microphone make sure to click YES .
